Each design is clean and direct — the three-letter code, stamped into leather. No extra elements competing for attention. The simplicity is the point. Three letters that immediately tell you exactly where someone is from, or where they've been, or where they're going back to.
Why City Codes
The three-letter format is deliberate. It's the language of travel — the shorthand that anyone who's boarded a flight, tracked a parcel, or followed a sports team recognizes immediately. CGY. EDM. WPG. You don't need to explain it. It reads instantly.
It also scales well on a leather patch. Three bold letters stamp cleanly, read clearly from a distance, and leave room for the leather itself to be part of the design. The patch doesn't need to be crowded to make a statement.
Same Process, Same Quality
Every patch in the Local Collection is made exactly the same way as every other hat we produce. Full-grain leather — the strongest, most durable grade — heat-stamped with a custom brass die under heat and pressure. A deep, permanent impression that won't fade, peel, or wear away.
Most leather patch hats you'll find online use laser engraving — a process that burns the design onto the surface. It's cheaper to produce and looks flat in person. We use heat-stamping exclusively because the result is genuinely better — tactile, defined, and built to last. There's something different about wearing the hat of a specific place rather than a general one.
